ASC has been accepted into the Norcal Premier Soccer League, in which
competitive teams from throughout Northern California play and can move through flights
based on prior results, without reference to the old Class 1 or Class 3 designation. This
allows all players and teams to reach their potential and play in well balanced, challenging
flights, which fosters player development and enjoyment. Four of our competitive teams played in
Norcal last season and all did very well. Accordingly, all players, at all talent levels, are invited
and encouraged to try out. Times and location of tryouts will follow, please check your email and the
website at www.alamedasoccer.org over the next few weeks for more details.
Select teams play under the team name "Islanders". Islanders teams are coached by experienced,
highly qualified coaches who apply to and are selected by the Club. The selection criteria is shown
in the chart below:
The benefits of playing on an Islanders team are many:
- Learning
advanced techniques from experienced coaches,
- Playing in
several weekend-long tournaments
- By playing
with and against better players, all players advance
- Development
of skills and attitude necessary to advance to the next level
Alameda's Select
program has a distinguished history. Many players have gone on to
star on Class I, ODP (Olympic Development Program), and High School
soccer teams.
