Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Clinics for Parents

New Parents Night! New Parents Night is the event to learn all about your child's soccer program. For the first 30 minutes of New Parents Night you'll hear first hand from Club officers about Alameda Soccer Club's program, get a chance to meet one of the program coordinators and ask questions. You’ll also participate in an interactive Positive Coaching (PCA) workshop (about 90 minutes) designed to support parents in sports programs. You'll also get a chance to meet other soccer parents in a friendly atmosphere.

Attendance at a New Parents Night is required by one parent from every family of new players. If you’ve already attended a Positive Coaching (PCA) workshop, you are welcome, but not required, to attend again this year. Regrettably we cannot provide childcare at this event. To make sure the events are accessible to all our new parents, ASC hosts 2 New Parents Nights that are two weeks apart. Parents need only attend a New Parents Night once.

Rain Out Information

  • Rainout Alert - Weekday Practices: Rainout Alerts during the weekdays for practice sessions are communicated to all coaches, team representatives, and parents via a general email Alameda Soccer Club Announcment using Sportability. It is highly recommended that persons check their emails regularly for status updates for field reopenings. It is important to note that this is the only "official" method of notification of field closures for the Alameda Soccer Club. ARPD Rainout Hotline may not always be updated, as such should not be relied upon as a primary source of rainout alerts.
  • Rainout Alert - Weekend Game Day: Official league Rainout Alerts during the weekend for game days are announced PRIMARILY via the the main Jack London website (it's the first item that pops up on the home page in bold, red). In addition, the league call-in rainout hotline is updated with a recorded message stating the current field conditions. That phone number (510)812-6051. It is important that persons check the JLYSSL website regularly status updates for field reopenings. Also. For those teams playing early morning games, especially with opponents traveling to our Alameda fields, it is highly recommended that coaches call their opponents to advise of the current rainout status.
