Thank you, Alameda!
The generosity and spirit of the Alameda community is amazing. On Sunday, February 11, the Alameda Soccer Club held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Hornet Futsal Court, located at the site of the unused tennis courts adjacent to Hornet Soccer Field. While the main funding to refinish the court came from the San Jose Earthquakes, the US Soccer Foundation, and the Alameda Soccer Club, this wonderful new facility could not have been built without the hard work and generosity of so many Alamedans.

U17 Islanders Girls Win Norcal Gold League Championship
The Alameda Islanders 2001 Red U17 Girls team defeated Marin FC on Sunday by the score of 2-1 to win the Norcal Section 2/3/4 Gold League championship. Marin FC equalized early in the second half after Sydney Owyang put the Islanders ahead with a composed finesse shot from the edge of the penalty area. It wasn’t until late in the game that Juliene Grandy scored the decisive goal, putting in a rebound of Elle Kallsen’s free kick which rattled off the cross bar with three minutes to play.
2001 Islanders Girls place 2nd at Stanford Classic
This weekend we played in the Stanford Summer Classic D1 tournament competing with teams from both premier and gold levels. For the second year in a row we played a tournament just before the season starts and straight after our team camp to prepare for the fall league. I like to treat it as a pre-season, understand our strengths and weaknesses so we are fully ready for the first game of the fall season.
Parent Survey Results – We Are Listening
[Text of an email sent out to all ASC family members earlier today] Alameda Soccer Families, Thank you very much for the families that took the time to complete the Annual Parent Survey. Feedback of this nature is crucial in Club development and is looked at closely to identify areas for improvement. The following have been identified through this and previous years surveys as areas within the Club families feel we have room for improvement.
