Thank you all for a great 4th of July parade

I would like to thank Erik Coker, our Treasurer, for providing the transportation for our very successful ASC entry into this year’s parade. I would also like to thank Dave Lekashman, our Secretary, for co-chairing this effort with me. Thanks to the parents of our ASC players that helped supervise our riders during the parade. Mostly, I want to thank our 30+ float riders that truly made it a successful event.

Announcing the ASC Volunteer Incentive Program

Give back to your community, then get something back for you and your team. The ASC Volunteer Program has been established to allow parents and families to be reimbursed for volunteer activities associated with ASC teams and the club. As you may have noticed the fees have been raise slightly this year to cover expenses and to improve the training for all ASC players. In order to offset some of the fee increases you are encouraged to volunteer for listed activities and at the end of the season can request a reimbursement towards the fall player fee.

I know it’s Summer and the last thing you want to think about is homework but the Summer is the best time to hone your skills and get ready for the Fall season Chris Lonsdale put together a great site with some exercises that players can do to improve their conditioning. ASC Islander Footskills has links to videos (like the one below) of workout drills that you can practice on your own to get ready for the upcoming season.

Announcing the Team Sponsorship Program

New for this year is a Team Sponsorship program. All teams that secure a Team Sponsor will receive a custom designed Alameda Soccer Club T-Shirts for all players and coaches. The cost of a Team Sponsorship is $495 (U11 and Up) and $350 (U10 and Under). Current Team Sponsors include Harbor Bay Realty, Tuckers, and Vincent San Nicolas, Broker. For parents and non-sponsored players who would like a T-Shirt, the cost is $12 (YS to XL – add $2 for larger sizes).
